Attack of the killer Koups: We prod, poke, ride in, and drive Kia’s Forte Koup race car.

Kia? Racing? Odds are you’ve never heard those two words employed in the same sentence. Nevertheless, the Korean automaker is now in its second season of track combat. Kia’s starting point for this venture—the Forte Koup—is the brand’s first-ever coupe, and Peter Schreyer’s design gave it standout good looks. But how could Kia get enthusiasts to think of it as more than just another pretty face? Race it, of course. And so the company enrolled in the Street Tuner class of the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
