On Tuesday we presented this week’s shifter and asked you to identify the make and model of the vehicle from whence it came. Almost everyone who commented identified this week’s mystery shifter as belonging to a 1978 Fiat X1/9. The first commenter to correctly identify it was James Krauss, who will receive a Save the Manuals button and sticker as a reward.

The X1/9 pictured here is from our January 1978 issue. The tiny mid-engined Fiat’s $5415 price as tested included a crisp Bertone-built body powered by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder making just 61.5 hp and 67 lb-ft of torque. Weighing only 2090 lbs, the X1/9 ran from 0-to-60 mph in a leisurely 12.3 seconds.
